✏The Little Prince Book Summary : Born in Lyon of France in 1900, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry considered himself primarily as a pilot. For 20 years he made numerous cartography and mailing missions for commercial companies. Air transmissions were the key factor concerning his professional and literature profile. He started writing The Little Prince during the WW II, when he was forced to abandon airforce (due to Germany’s invasion in France) and seek refuge in New York. His great desire of going back, hopefully after the war, is depicted as the nostalgia of being a child again, something that is so evident in Little Prince. The Sahara desert is the scenery of Little Prince’s story. The narrator’s plane has crashed there and he has scarcely some food and water to survive. Trying to comprehend what caused the crash, the Little Prince appears. The serious blonde little boy asks to draw him a sheep. The narrator consents to the strange fellow’s request. They soon become friends and the Little Prince informs the pilot that he is from a small planet, the asteroid 325, talks to him about the baobabs, his planet volcanoes and the mysterious rose that grew on his planet. He also talks to him about their friendship and the lie that evoked his journey to other planets. Often puzzled by the grown-ups’ behavior, the little traveler becomes a total and eternal symbol of innocence and love, of responsibility and devotion. Through him we get to see how insightful children are and how grown-ups aren’t. Children use their heart to feel what’s really important, not the eyes…

✏The Little Prince Book Summary : With an introduction by Kate MosseAll grown-ups were children once (but most of them have forgotten).A pilot who has crash landed in the desert awakes to see an extraordinary little boy. 'Please,' asks the stranger, 'will you draw me a little lamb!' Baffled by the little prince's incessant questioning, the pilot pulls out his pencil, and starts to draw. As the little prince's curiosity takes them further on their journey together, the pilot is able to piece together an understanding of the tiny planet from which the prince has come and of his incredible travels across the universe. First published in 1943, The Little Prince has been translated into more than 250 languages, becoming a global phenomenon. Heart-breaking, funny and thought-provoking, it is an enchanting and endlessly wise fable about the human condition and the power of imagination. A book about both childhood and adulthood, it can be read as a parable, a war story, a classic children's fairy-tale, and many more things besides: The Little Prince is a book for everyone; after all, all grown-ups were children once. 'The Little Prince moves from asteroid to desert, from fable and comedy to enigmatic tragedy, in order to make one recurrent point: You can't love roses. You can only love a rose' Adam Gopnik, New Yorker

In the midst of personal upheavals and failing health, he produced almost half of the writings for which he would be remembered, including a tender tale of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss, in the form of a young alien prince fallen to Earth. An earlier memoir by the author had recounted his aviation experiences in the Sahara Desert, and he is thought to have drawn on those same experiences in The Little Prince. Since its first publication in the United States, the novella has been adapted to numerous art forms and media, including audio recordings, radio plays, live stage, film screen, television, ballet, and operatic works"

✏The Lawyer and the Little Prince Book Summary : Joseph Tandet, practicing entertainment attorney and a theatre and film producer in New York City, chronicles the adventures and misadventures he experienced bringing the classic story, The Little Prince, to the big screen. He relates how a little yeshiva boy from Brooklyn, growing up with sparse parental encouragement, attended college and law school, litigated a string of negligence cases, and went on to surmount the daunting obstacles and experience the heights of the entertainment world and Hollywood. Who would have believed it? Tandet convinced the French publisher, Gallimard, and the Saint-Exupéry family to sign a boilerplate contract under the pretense that Gene Kelley had already signed on as the leading man. Armed with nothing but nerve and chutzpah, he was able to make his way through the valley of the moguls and convince Paramount Pictures to produce a feature-length film based upon the popular story. Tandet reveals the conversations he had with directors, actors, writers, and others he met on his path to taking the magical, musical fable based upon Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's story from an idea to a feature film. This engaging memoir provides captivating inside details regarding a film that is still popular, decades after its release.
