✏Ww2 Through the Eyes of a Child Book Summary : This is the true story of a little child called Patrick, who was one of five little brothers that came through, what seemed like a strange world full of bombs dropping, causing big fires and total destruction on a massive scale, every morning I would wake up to see new Wendy houses to play in not realizing someone lived there the day before, and the houses were still burning it was nice and warm, food was so scarce it was rationed so much so we had a plot of land where the family tried to grow our own food, sweets and fruit I did not see until I was 14yrs old, as for toy's well you just made your own if you could, what the war failed to do was any damage to Manchester folks "wicked sense of humour", that's why to me they will always be the salt of the earth and I should know I am one of them. There is an old saying, you can take the child out of Manchester, but you will never take Manchester out of the child. The best way to give you an understanding about the war is this, if you can imagine that almost every single nation on this planet was involved in the fighting for 6 long years, with the exception of Spain Switzerland & Sweden who were neutral.

✏Through the Eyes of an Innocent Child Book Summary : Have you ever thought of how children really feel while they are trapped in a war zone, surrounded by nothing but chaos? Did you ever stop and consider what goes through their minds and what is felt in the hearts while their childhood is ruined, lives interrupted, and dreams shattered in the most heartless way? Ever wondered what it might feel like drifting to sleep under the echoes of grenade explosions or walking to school dodging bullets? Through the Eyes of an Innocent Child is a memoir told by a young girl who was unfortunate enough to experience it all on her very own skin, all because of a senseless war lead by merciless leaders who pursued their brutal actions to achieve some delusional ideologies. Through the Eyes of an Innocent Child aims to depict and convey the real feelings and thoughts of a child, and give insight into their small, innocent world while being overshadowed by the stench of ammunition powder and escaping the sharp edges of the shrapnel. They were the forgotten children, totally abandoned by the rest of the world. They felt hopeless.

✏Through the Eyes of a Child Poetry and Short Stories Book Summary : My life is a blank canvas, though, An unsung melody, An unwritten book, only a thought. And from the delicate quill Of a pure white feather ... Alexandria Dread loves transporting others beyond the normal and into an imaginary world created through the power of words. In her first collection of writings, Dread relies on humor, compassion, and heart to share a powerful message that people of all ages see the world in similar ways. Dread poetically leads others through her life as she struggled with emotions and fears on the first day of school; contemplated why accomplishments that are touted to be a “piece of cake” never result in an actual piece of cake; found comfort in the sun, sky, and stars; and why at nighttime, everyone gets ready for bed—except the monster under her bed. Included in the collection are several imaginative and entertaining short stories. Through the Eyes of a Child shares poetry and tales from a teenager inspired by real-life experiences growing up in today’s world.

✏Through the Eyes of a Child Book Summary : Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) has helped thousands of adults haunted by traumatic events. But what about children? Millions of children witness violence in the home and in the streets. Many others are traumatized by accidents, natural disasters, abuse, and neglect. This book shows that EMDR can be successfully applied to children, which can ensure their mental health, growth, and development. Through the Eyes of a Child demystifies the application of EMDR for children, from the first session with the parents to later sessions with children at all developmental stages. The adult protocol is modified so that it can be applied to children as young as two years old (and possibly younger). A system of classification of childhood trauma that allows therapists to predict a child's response to EMDR is presented. Myriad cases illustrate the use of EMDR with various traumas. Many examples of simple traumas are presented, including automobile accidents, lightning strikes, bereavement, and specific phobias such as a fear of animals. In addition, cases illustrate success with complex traumas, where aspects of the trauma are ongoing and EMDR becomes part of several possible therapeutic interventions. EMDR is also discussed as an intervention for children who have problems that are not caused by trauma. Case illustrations show how EMDR can be used with children with ADHD, anxiety, depressive, or reactive attachment disorders, as well as learning difficulties and somatoform disorders. With its compelling, frank style, Through the Eyes of a Child will appeal to all who are interested in applying this revolutionary new therapy with children.

✏Fleeing the Country Book Summary : In 1978, Eartha Lee moved to rural Alaska at the age of two, leaving her birthplace in Blairsville, Georgia far behind. Before long, the family began living twelve miles out the Taylor Highway in an abandoned one room cabin. Electricity, a telephone, and indoor plumbing were out of the question. For seven months during the winter, they were without transportation into Eagle as the road was completely covered with snow and ice. During this time, weeks could pass without visitors. Eartha's story is a perspective of the child who dreamt of what was beyond the ever-rolling mountains. As the years passed, Eartha, her little sister, Sara, and her older brother, John Charles, were all taught at home through Alaska Gateway Correspondence Study, a program free of charge to students who lived in rural Alaska. However, the supplemental lessons that centered around living in the wild were vital for their survival. Over the long winters, Eartha's family lived in various cabins for shelter when weather conditions were extremely cold, dark, and harsh. During the summers, they set up camp in clearings that have long since been taken over by raspberry bushes and new trees. In earlier years, a big blue canvas tent served as a temporary seasonal home, but as the family grew, an old school bus kept crowded sleeping areas bearable. Such a life became increasingly lonely over the years. Eventually, the family relocated into Eagle, a community of about 130 residents. During the upcoming years, they lived in Eagle or on the outskirts of the nearby Eagle Village, home to nearly 50 Athabaskan Natives. Eartha's family lived off the land to a large extent, eating fish, moose, caribou, berries, wild plants, and small game such as squirrels, rabbits, and grouse. Her father worked fighting wildfires, cutting wood, gold mining, and fur trapping to earn money for basic supplies: kerosene, flour, salt, sugar, coffee, honey, oil, and other essentials. Her mother was the ultimate homemaker and teacher, making ends meet even when faced with the grim challenges that are inevitably a part of living life in rural Alaska. In "Fleeing the Country: Rural Alaska Through the Eyes of a Child" the author does not only speak for herself, but for so many other children who have grown up in isolated areas of Alaska. While it is romantic in one sense to see this great land as our nation's Last Frontier, many youth are confined here because of situations beyond their control. "Fleeing the Country" is a much needed story that will serve to provide a new point of view for this and future generations who dream of a thriving wilderness that can be enjoyed by all in their due time.
