✏Picture Clues of Forrest Fenn in the Thrill of the Chase Book Summary : Forrest Fenn hid a treasure chest several years ago - filling it with gold and jewels, and placed it somewhere in the Rocky Mountains North of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Estimates on the value of the chest range from one to three million dollars.James Porowski is a psychologist with specialties in personality development, creativity, and intelligence. So when a friend introduced him to The Thrill of the Chase, he was hooked. He carefully read and reread Forrest Fenn's book, and found it to be a work of art: creative, profoundly sincere, and funny. In his studies, which included six cross country trips to Montana, he found that the pictures throughout Fenn's book and their intricate arrangement were not random. They pointed to specific places on the map, and led to the general location where Fenn's treasure should be found. Porowski's book, Picture Clues of Forrest Fenn in The Thrill of the Chase, carefully takes the reader through all nine clues of Forrest Fenn's poem. He then uses the pictures and stories in Fenn's book to detail each of the nine clues, and place the treasure in an area where the Madison river flows through Bear Trap Canyon in Montana.Forrest Fenn is an artist: highly intelligent and detail oriented. The pictures in Fenn's book keep to that style.

📒Unsolved ✍ Craig P. Bauer
✏Unsolved Book Summary : Watch Craig Bauer discuss the Zodiac Killer’s cipher on HISTORY’s new miniseries The Hunt for the Zodiac Killer In 1953, a man was found dead from cyanide poisoning near the Philadelphia airport with a picture of a Nazi aircraft in his wallet. Taped to his abdomen was an enciphered message. In 1912, a book dealer named Wilfrid Voynich came into possession of an illuminated cipher manuscript once belonging to Emperor Rudolf II, who was obsessed with alchemy and the occult. Wartime codebreakers tried—and failed—to unlock the book's secrets, and it remains an enigma to this day. In this lively and entertaining book, Craig Bauer examines these and other vexing ciphers yet to be cracked. Some may reveal the identity of a spy or serial killer, provide the location of buried treasure, or expose a secret society—while others may be elaborate hoaxes. Unsolved! begins by explaining the basics of cryptology, and then explores the history behind an array of unsolved ciphers. It looks at ancient ciphers, ciphers created by artists and composers, ciphers left by killers and victims, Cold War ciphers, and many others. Some are infamous, like the ciphers in the Zodiac letters, while others were created purely as intellectual challenges by figures such as Nobel Prize–winning physicist Richard P. Feynman. Bauer lays out the evidence surrounding each cipher, describes the efforts of geniuses and eccentrics—in some cases both—to decipher it, and invites readers to try their hand at puzzles that have stymied so many others. Unsolved! takes readers from the ancient world to the digital age, providing an amazing tour of many of history's greatest unsolved ciphers.
📒The Thrill Of The Chase ✍ Paul Martineau
✏The Thrill of the Chase Book Summary : Samuel J. Wagstaff Jr. (1921–1987) amassed an extraordinary collection of 26,000 photographs between 1973 and 1984, recognizing that photography was an undervalued art form on which he might have a profound impact as a collector. He was mainly attracted to photographs that stimulated his imagination, and his taste ran toward the idiosyncratic—images that surprised him chiefly because he had never seen them before. In choosing the 147 works reproduced in this volume, Paul Martineau selected masterpieces as well as images from obscure sources: daguerreotypes, cartes-de-visite, and stereographs, plus mug shots, medical photographs, and works by unknown makers. The latter category contains some of the most outstanding objects in the collection, demonstrating Wagstaff’s willingness to position unfamiliar images alongside works by established masters as well as underrepresented contemporary artists of the time, including Jo Ann Callis, William Garnett, and Edmund Teske. This book is published to accompany an eponymous exhibition on view at the J. Paul Getty Museum from March 15 to July 31, 2016; at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT, from September 10 to December 11, 2016; and at the Portland Museum of Art in Portland, ME, from February 1 to April 30, 2017.
