📒The Shift ✍ Hanitra N. Ralaiarisedy
✏The Shift Book Summary : “Know thyself” is a leitmotiv throughout all great wisdom traditions. Inheriting from this principle, postmodern theories regard self-knowledge as the prerequisite to self-actualization and social transformations. While such a view is undeniably important, it cannot fully represent God’s justice and equity. Indeed, it is not given to everyone to know—or just to desire—to know oneself. This book proposes a Christian alternative to human flourishing. Shifting the paradigm of the ancient wisdom that humanistic psychologists and postmodern tools continue to rely on, Christ puts the existential quest of “who we are” aside. Instead, he leads the faithful towards the actualization of their “gifts,” transforming “uncreated energies” into co-creative opportunities for the betterment of their communities, organizations, and countries, regardless of who they are and how well they know themselves. Christ offers the path to the kingdom of God on earth (proposed in this book as the “nothing” from which creation emerges) and in which everyone has a role to play with no exception. Christ claims, “The kingdom of God is here: choose life and self-knowledge follows. Do not be afraid. I am with you!”

Download The Shiftand allow these lessons to guide you down a more authentic and rewarding path today. As we contemplate leaving the morning of our life, where ego has played a commanding role, and entering the afternoon (and evening), where meaning and purpose replace ambition and struggle, we may encounter unexpected occurrences that accompany this new direction. It’s almost a universal law that we’ll experience a fall of some kind. Yet these falls or low points provide the energy we need to move away from ego and into a life of meaning and purpose. The Shift doesn’t mean that we lose our drive and ambition; it signifies that we become ambitious about something new. We make a commitment to living a life based on experiencing meaning and feeling purposeful, rather than a life based on never-ending demands and false promises that are the trademark of the ego’s agenda.

📒The Shift ✍ Michael Harris
✏The Shift Book Summary : Sedona is well-known as a very spiritual place. It is also known as a congregation ground for crystal crunchers, self-proclaimed visionaries and mystics. There are a few true healers here, but they shun the media and the publicity that others come here to seek. Two of them feel a shift in balance one evening, and know something bad has come to this healing spot. A father and son serial killer team has stopped by in Sedona on the way north to Canada. With them, they bring all the hate that drives them to keep killing. They have a well-refined method of finding, keeping and finally killing their subjects, and are experts at leaving no trace. They have remained at large as they perform these acts while travelling through seven states. This story is about the healers, and how they, with the help of a USFS volunteer and his search/rescue dog, Sam find out what has happened and how to make it go away before more killings occur. Mike and Linda Harris are residents of Sedona, Arizona. They relocated to Sedona in 2003, leaving California for a less-structured and more healthful lifestyle in a peaceful, beautiful place. Both are graduates of SDSU, and Mike has authored several books under his name on technical subjects, including some which remain in the classified domain. He is from a Business Development background with emphasis on contract electronics for Defense Electronics companies. Linda has a Business degree, and was most recently a Director of Resident Programs at one of the largest multi-level senior care facilities in Southern California. She has been on television, and is credited for assisting in the establishment of the ethics committee under which many of the senior care facilities operate today. Both, with the assistance of Sam, co-wrote this book. Both Mike and Linda are active in the Sedona area, volunteering under USFS programs which are dedicated to preservation of the Sedona wildlife preserves and trail systems. These include the Adopt-a-Trail program, Mountain Bike Patrol and Friends of the Forest programs. Sam is included in these efforts, and routinely can be seen walking in the forest with patrollers, trail management personnel and volunteer search and rescue groups.
📒The Shift ✍ O. K. Johnson
✏The Shift Book Summary : Preface This book has been in the works approximately thirty-seven years. When I was twenty-two, I knew I was going to write a book. I just didn't know what the topic would be or where it would go. That was in the days of manual typewriters. Functional home computers with word processing were still about eight years away. It wasn't until about two years ago in the spring of 2010 that I felt it was time to write. I toyed with a couple of different themes since biblical prophecy was my prime interest. However, as the writing progressed, I felt the Lord directing me to write the story of my journey from religion in the Roman Catholic tradition to a Bible-based, personal relationship with God as the creator of the universe. I grew up attending Catholic schools and my experiences are very similar to thousands of others who have attend parochial school. It was a great experience and solid educationally. It just wasn't fulfilling spiritually. I don't focus on the political and social issues facing the Catholic Church, as some folks have. I will not Catholic-bash. If anything, I have tried to be evenhanded concerning my experiences growing up Catholic and those of dealing with my Protestant Christian friends. There will be some things said in this book that will cause my Catholic friends to cringe. There will also be some conclusions with which my Protestant friends will disagree. The story is my personal journey and one I am happy to share. It is the story of my journey from religion to relationship, and my personal view from the pew.
