✏Sabotaged Book Summary : Alongside the various people moving into and through the nineteenth-century Texas frontier was a group of European intellectuals bent on establishing a socialist utopia near the hamlet of Dallas. Their inspiration, French philosopher Charles Fourier, envisioned a society in which basic human ambitions would be expressed and cultivated, tied together by the bonds of emotion. Fourier's self-appointed disciple Victor Considerant led the establishment of La Réunion in 1855, organized under a Paris stock company. James Pratt weaves together the dramatic story of this utopia: the complex tale of a diverse group of Europeans who sought a new society but were forced to face the realities of life in nineteenth-century Texas. Considerant's followers endured a long ocean voyage with Spanish gunboats following in their Caribbean wake. They brushed blooming magnolias through Buffalo Bayou between Galveston Bay and Houston--so narrow a channel that two ships could not pass simultaneously. They walked for three weeks across barren country, came into conflict with the Texas legislature over land, and had to buy their stolen horses back from Chief Ned, a famous Delaware Indian living in Texas. They were buffeted in the rising political winds of abolition, and droughts ruined their crops. In the end, however, it was their flamboyant leader Victor Considerant who sabotaged their dream.

✏God Thoughts 2 U Book Summary : This book was written for those who have perhaps become disillusioned with the condition of today’s church. Over the years, much of the content of our faith has been seriously diluted, many words have been emptied of meaning, and much vibrancy has been lost. Found in these writings is the offering of some thoughts that can help us regain some of what we have lost. Jesus is still building his church today, whether or not we can see it, and it is the author’s hope that these writings are part of his reconstruction.

✏Man Dis Connected Book Summary : Young men are failing as never before - academically, socially and sexually. But why is this so? What are the implications? And what needs to be done about it before it's too late? Philip Zimbardo and co-writer Nikita Coulombe examine the modern meltdown of manhood and how this is manifest in the lives of young men today. They consider such factors as absent fathers, and legislation favouring women, which contribute to many men lacking social skills and direction in their lives. Most controversially, Zimbardo argues that readily available hardcore pornography and exciting gaming realities provide digital alternatives that are less demanding and far more appealing for many than sex, sports and social interaction in the real world. Immersion in these alternative realms is playing havoc with these boys' cognitive development, their ability to concentrate and their social development, allowing girls to excel in the real world where social skills are a source of success. By illuminating the symptoms and causes of these gloomy trends, Zimbardo and Coulombe shed light on how we arrived at this state of affairs and, most significantly, what the solutions might be.

✏Takedown Book Summary : We are witnessing a watershed moment in American cultural history. As the legal definition of marriage rapidly changes, a fundamental transformation of the family is fast assuming new dimensions. Extreme-Left radicals have helped pave the way for a cultural revolution that takes down the traditional family unit. Paul Kengor, author of the New York Times bestseller The Communist, traces the roots of the anti-family movement through the sordid history of socialists and communists - people like Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Margaret Sanger, Wilhelm Reich, Herbert Marcuse, and assorted 1960s radicals. He articulates how onetime fringe concepts have become accepted by mainstream American thought and are now welcomed by legislators and judges - a reality that would have shocked by delighted these radical-Left forebearers. -- from back cover.

✏Sabotage in the Arctic Book Summary : The story of Australian-born Sir Hubert Wilkins and the Nautilus is usually a brief footnote, if mentioned at all, of Arctic exploration history. However, it is a tale of daring enterprise and of men captivated by the pursuit of noble deeds. Having leased and extensively modified a decommissioned vintage World War I U.S. Navy submarine, the Wilkins-Ellsworth Trans Arctic Submarine Expedition of 1931 was marked by controversy from its inception. Many considered it a huge publicity stunt, especially the planned rendezvous at the North Pole with the German airship Graf Zeppelin. The Nautilus did make it into the Arctic but suspected sabotage ended Sir Huberts quest to be the first to use a submarine to cross the Arctic Ocean by way of the North Pole. An oceanographer, historian and author, Dr. Nelson is a Fellow of the Marine Technology Society, a member of the Explorers Club and the former president of the American Oceanic Organization.

✏Blackmail Sabotage Attacks on French industries during World War Two Book Summary : In late-1943 Harry Ree, one of Britain's secret agents operating in eastern France, witnessed an RAF bombing mission on Peugeot's automobile factory in Sochaux/Montbeliard. As many bombs missed their target, damaging houses and killing innocent French civilians, he was aware that it could turn public opinion against the Allies. With the agreement of his boss in the Special Operations Executive, he approached one of Peugeot's directors and made him an offer: Agree to have your vital machinery sabotaged or have the factory destroyed by British or American bombers. To help the director decide, he was offered compensation by the Allies after the war. When this novel approach proved successful, SOE set up a blackmail sabotage committee which targeted over thirty French factories. Over twenty specially trained agents, both men and women, were infiltrated on missions which included blackmail sabotage. This book details their successes and failures."

✏Aristide Book Summary : This is the story of Roger Landes - "Aristide" of F Section, Special Operations Executive - who was born in Paris of British parents and came to London in 1938, to work in the LCC's Architects Department. After being trained as a wireless operator in the Royal Signals, he was recruited into SOE, where he trained with figures such as Claude de Baissac and Harry Pueleve. Although jinxed in his attempts to parachute into France, including being "shot down" by an owl, he eventually became wireless operator in Bordeaux for the "Scientist" circuit. Just as he took over command of the circuit, he was betrayed and forced to flee, and later returned to find only one contact alive and in place. By D-Day he commanded over 5000 armed, trained resisters who disrupted transport in the region by destroying 438 locomotives and numerous power-lines. By the Liberation, he commanded more than 7000 men and had organized the peaceful transition to French government in South-West France. Ordered out of the country by de Gaulle, Landes had a spell in hospital before being parachuted into Malaya to train the population to resist the Japanese, and was there at the surrender in August 1945. Following de Gaulle's resignation he was highly decorated by the French Government, and in 1992 was made an Officer of the Legion d'Honneur. He also holds the MC and Bar, and the Croix de Guerre.

✏The Moon Was My Witness Book Summary : "Blood, fire and towers of smoke" His expressive blue eyes full of warmth were the secret weapon of Abraham Levy and another secret he had kept in his heart for years. In 1937 he immigrated to Palestine with part of his family and stayed there for a year and a half. As an eight year old child, he ran on the golden sands of Tel-Aviv and became an Israeli in whose blood, flowed the legend of the ancient hero Bar-Cochba. The cruelty of destiny took him back to Europe right before the war against his will. All the rest of his family, who had tasted the taste of Paradise in Palestine, was murdered in the ghetto and Abraham went through the Inferno of 6 concentration camps at the age of 12: R.A.B. Lager, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Buna, Dora, Nord-Hausen and Bergen-Belzen. He received the power to overcome all tribulations from the sun, the sea breeze and the streets of Tel-Aviv, from his friends in 'Tachkemoni School' and the words he repeated to himself over and over again: 'I am as brave as an Israeli soldier, I am a fighter and I will never surrender. I am like Bar-Kochvah, I look the lion in the eyes and defeat him. I am from Palestine and I am strong!' From the moment when he was torn from his mother's arms in the Zychlin Ghetto until he reached the coast of The Holy Land once more, he passed a journey full of obstacles but he founded a glorious family. 'Only here everything belongs to us, the blue sea, the sky, the mountains, the oranges and the clean air. Here is the land where Elijah the Prophet went up to Heaven and Bar-Kochvah rode the lion.'

✏The Many Indiscretions of Arty Boyle Book Summary : Arthur "Arty" Garret Boyle is a master manipulator. With a sociopathic personality and an IQ of 175, he embarks on a career as an art dealer and popular musician. He associates with those in the criminal world as well as the elite of society, thereby mixing his legitimate art business with stolen and forged art. Boyle finds himself hunted by FBI agent Terry Latimer of the bureau's Art Recovery Squad and is convicted of stealing paintings from the Robert Farnsworth estate. Boyle fails to appear for sentencing and a fugitive warrant is issued. While a fugitive, Boyle masterminds the theft of a famous Rembrandt painting. He reasons that he will help the authorities "find" the painting in exchange for leniency for his crimes. But Arty expands on his original plan and exploits the stolen Rembrandt painting while being pursued by Agent Latimer. Can Arty successfully escape, or will Agent Latimer finally capture him?
