The book was a collection of the feeling, impression and experience of areas, regions, countries where I visited with joy, worry, anxiety, surprise and disappointment, suddenness and interest… The journey and writings are my prayer for peace in the earth, finish bombs, children have many foods, nobody is poverty-stricken, everybody can travel. In this book, the start of my journeys was Hanoi - my

A major fraction of star formation in the universe occurs in starbursts. These regions of particularly rapid star formation are often located towards the centers of host galaxies. Studies of this kind of star formation at high redshift have produced astonishing results over recent years that were only possible with the latest generation of large ground-based and space telescopes. The papers collected in this volume present these results in the context of the much firmer foundation of star formation in

It will take all of Delancey's skill and courage to confront the threats.

To provide observational data for analysis of near-bottom. wave-induced flows, a downward-looking laser Doppler velocimeter LDV) was deployed to profile the near-bed velocity structure of a six meter water column at a site just outside the surfzone off the coast of North Carolina. 90 second 'snap-shots' of the velocity at six elevations below 20 cm above bottom were measured at 25 Hz while pressure was concurrently measured at 126 Cm above bottom. The near-bottom data were supplemented with a benthic acoustic stress sensor (BASS)

The second direction is in the increasing bond between the fields of perception and cognition. This volume grew out of the context of this second direction, a particular product of two workshops (held in the Spring of 1974 and 1975), organized by the Committee on Cognitive Research of
