📒Greetings ✍ Meredith Westfall
✏Greetings Book Summary : Knowing which kind of occasion demands which kind of greeting card requires knowledge about American culture. Greetings! is unique in teaching about card-giving occasions and in not showcasing holidays, which may be specific to one culture. In Greetings! ESL students will learn about American culture and the many different types of greeting cards by studying personal milestones-- events that are personal so that people from different cultures can relate to and understand the experiences. Each unit presents one topic and then engages students with related activities such as writing captions for greeting cards, finding solutions to various problems, and discussing questions about each topic. Students are given ample opportunity to share personal information and to present their opinions. In addition, students will practice functional language, including that inherent to inviting, sympathizing, apologizing, and expressing gratitude. 📒Greetings ✍ Ann D. Lutz
✏Greetings Book Summary : These poems are the Christmas Greetings my husband and I shared with friends over the years. He died in 2001, but I have continued the tradition. These poems, in traditional metered and rhymed lines, usually end with a prayer for the New Year, similar to what might be included in a greeting card. Hence the title Greetings! Many friends have expressed appreciation for the poems and my colleagues in Ministry have found them usable and quotable in sermons. Many of the poems can be sung to familiar meters or hymn tunes.

📒Women In The Greetings Of Romans 16 1 16 ✍ Susan Mathew
✏Women in the Greetings of Romans 16 1 16 Book Summary : Susan Mathew examines the structures of mutuality in Romans, to shed light on the issue of women's leadership in Pauline theology. Mathew begins by analyzing the general form of greetings in the Pauline letters, to shed light on the specific form of the greetings in Rom 16.1-16. Mathew then couples this with analysis of the leadership of women in the Greco-Roman world showing that women's leadership roles in the Pauline churches were part of this wider culture. This provides a basis from which to show that the women named in Romans 16.1-16, display Paul's acknowledgment of some women associates, and point to relationships of mutuality in the greetings. A study of Romans 12-13 helps to apprehend the model of mutuality exemplified in the greetings. Finally, the contextual application of mutuality in the community as mutual welcoming and mutual up-building (Romans 14-15) is brought into focus. This enables Mathew to draw together the strands of the Pauline ethos of mutuality, which encourages the leadership roles of women in the greetings at the end of Romans.
