📒Complete Books Of Enoch ✍ Ann Nyland
✏Complete Books of Enoch Book Summary : This is a NEW (2010) easy-to-read translation by ancient languages scholar Dr. A. Nyland and is NOT one of the many Public Domain translations of Enoch NOR IS IT A REWORDED PUBLIC DOMAIN VERSION of Enoch. Great advances which have been made in ancient word meaning in the last twenty years were unknown to the translators of the public domain versions of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. There are copious background notes and cross references to Bible verses. This book is an easy to read translation with cross references and notes.Despite the current trend for non-translators to reproduce public domain versions (both as is and disguised by slight rewording) as a commercial venture, be aware that such public domain versions do not take advantage of recent scholarship in word meaning or any corrections in translation. This new translation by Dr. A. Nyland contains all three books of Enoch:1 Enoch (Also called The Ethiopic Book of Enoch)2 Enoch (Also called The Slavonic Book of Enoch, The Secrets of Enoch). This volume contains the extended version of 2 Enoch, The Exaltation of Melchizedek.3 Enoch (Also called The Hebrew Book of Enoch)Note that this is Dr. Nyland's translation and NOT a public domain work.1 Enoch tells of the Watchers, a class of angel, who taught humans weapons, spell potions, root cuttings, astrology, astronomy, and alchemies. The Watchers also slept with human women and produced the Nephilim. For this, they were imprisoned and cast into Tartarus. This is also mentioned in the New Testament. In 2 Enoch, two angels take Enoch through the 7 heavens. This volume contains the extended version of 2 Enoch, The Exaltation of Melchizedek. In 3 Enoch, Enoch ascends to heaven and is transformed into the angel Metatron. This is about the Merkabah and is of interest to Kabbalists. People interested in Theosophy and Rosicrucianism will find this book invaluable. The Complete Books of Enoch is also an invaluable reference for those interested in Theology and it is also a valuable Christian reference.Dr. A. Nyland is an ancient language scholar and lexicographer who served as Faculty at the University of New England, Australia. Dr. Nyland is also the translator of "The Source New Testament with Extensive Notes on Greek Word Meaning," "The Book of Jubilees," "The Gospel of Thomas," the ancient Hittite "Kikkuli Text," and "The Psalms: Translation with Notes."
📒The Book Of Enoch ✍ Enoch
✏The Book of Enoch Book Summary : The Book of Enoch is one of the most notable extant apocryphal works of the Bible. Estimated to have been written around 300 BC, this ancient Jewish religious work is ascribed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. Consisting of five distinct sections, the book begins with the fall of the Watchers, angels who fathered the Nephilim, the offspring of "sons of god" and the "daughters of men." The book follows Enoch as he travels through Heaven and expands more thoroughly, than the Book of Genesis, on the early kingdom of Israel and the events leading up to the great flood of Noah. Many themes common to other Biblical apocalyptic stories can be found here: despair by the godly for their world, a world where goodness did not matter and where evil triumphed and prospered. With evil everywhere around, the Apocalyptists saw no hope for the world as it was, it must be destroyed if the good were ever to triumph. This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper and follows the translation of R. H. Charles.
✏Complete Books of Enoch All Three New Translation with Extensive Commentary Book Summary : This is a NEW Translation of ALL THREE Books of Enoch, with extensive commentary. Many of the Book of Enoch books available are in fact public domain (the R. H. Charles version of 1917) which means that they can be given away to anyone for free, by anyone. This book is NOT one of those. What is the problem with public domain versions? They are full of errors, as they are around 100 years old and out-dated scholarship. Sure, they might be cheap, but most of the information is wrong. World renowned scholar Dr. A. Nyland has a doctorate in ancient languages and word meaning. She was a college professor at the University of New England, Australia, lecturing in ancient languages. She has appeared on television and radio numerous times speaking about ancient languages and ancient peoples. These days, many non-translators (some of whom actually claim to be translators) sell the public domain version of 1917 by R.H. Charles (both as is, and also disguised by slight rewording) as a commercial venture. This version reflects the knowledge of The Book of Enoch as it was back in 1917. Great advances have been made since then. This (all 3 Books of Enoch) is a NEW (2010) and easy-to-read translation by ancient languages scholar Dr. A. Nyland and is NOT the 1917 R.H. Charles Public Domain translation of The Book of Enoch. The Book of Enoch is of importance to theosophy and mysticism. This book is an easy to read translation with cross references, copious background notes, and notes. This new translation by Dr. A. Nyland contains all 3 Books of Enoch: 1) 1 Book of Enoch (Also called The Ethiopic Book of Enoch) 2) 2 Book of Enoch (Also called The Slavonic Book of Enoch, The Secrets of Enoch). Also contains the extended version of 2 The Book of Enoch, The Exaltation of Melchizedek. 3) 3 Book of Enoch (Also called The Hebrew Book of Enoch) The Books of Enoch are of interest to a wide audience: theosophy, mysticism. 1 Book of Enoch tells of the Watchers, a class of angel, who taught humans weapons, spell potions, root cuttings, astrology, astronomy, and alchemy. The Watchers also had sex with human women and produced the Nephilim. For this, they were imprisoned and cast into Tartarus. This is also mentioned in the New Testament. In 2 Book of Enoch, two angels take Enoch through the 7 heavens. This volume contains the extended version of 2 Book of Enoch, The Exaltation of Melchizedek. In 3 Book of Enoch, Enoch ascends to heaven and is transformed into the angel Metatron. This is about the Merkabah and is of interest to those who study mysticism and magic, and to Kabbalists. People interested in theosophy or mysticism will find this book invaluable, as will Rosicrucians.
📒Commentary On The Book Of Enoch ✍ John D. Ladd
✏Commentary on the Book of Enoch Book Summary : Fifty years after James Bruce brought a copy of the Book of Enoch, found in Ethiopia, to England, Richard Laurence made a first modern translation. Later, R.H. Charles made another translation using some Greek excerpts, and more Ethiopian texts. Then recently, Michael A Knibb, using many texts, and partial texts, put together an ?adequate' translation. Yet, all of these translations are rough, obscure, and confusing to Christians of today. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained many copies and partial copies of the Book of Enoch, In the Dead Sea scrolls, there were found 17 copies. Comparitively, there were 30 copies of Psalms, 25 copies of Deuteronomy, 19 of Isaiah, 15 of Genesis and Exodus, 14 Of Jubilees. Jude validated The Book Of Enoch with his quote from it. Using all of the sources now available, along with an in-depth study of book, I have prepared this paraphrase/translation. Along with such, I have included an commentary to help in its comparison with the Bible. John D. Ladd was raised the son of an Assemblies of God pastor. He attended Northeast Bible College, in Pennsylvania, and later, Malone College, in Canton, Ohio. He pastored for many years, was ordained in the Assemblies of God, but later left to pastor independent churches. Preferring teaching to preaching, he has spent many years studying, reading books from the early church period, and translating\paraphrasing them for ease of use by Christians of today. This book of Enoch's has been translated, paraphrased, and now is being given commentary, to compare it with the Bible's message, to test it by the Word of God. How does it compare? Is it in agreement with the message and prophetic teachings of the Bible?
📒The Apocalypse Of Baruch ✍ R. H. Charles
✏The Apocalypse of Baruch Book Summary : An important religious text that was not included in the Bible. Was written in the first person, by Baruch, who describes his experiences both before and after the destruction of Jerusalem in approximately 67 AD. A fascinating work because we know the original historical setting that it was written in. More importantly, this rare book is a compilation of prophecies and revelations which have been surprising accurate in light of modern history. After World Wars I and II the prophecies recorded by Baruch became clarified. Therefore, although Charles reflects skepticism of Baruch in some cases, it may no longer be warranted in light of these newer events. It is left to the reader to explore the value of these prophecies. An extensive Index lists all other known scriptures that are directly connected to or closely parallel the text. This work is an important addition for anyone involved in a serious study of religions and apocryphal texts.
📒Sefer Ha Yashar Or The Book Of Jasher ✍ Mordecai Manuel Noah
✏Sefer Ha yashar Or The Book of Jasher Book Summary : According to some sources, this book was once the original start of the Bible. We do know at one time that it was once part of the Bible, being referred to in Joshua and Second Samuel. It also survived the burning of the Alexandria Library in about 389 AD due to a fast acting custodian. Albinus Alcuin later found this work and did the original translation of it from Hebrew in 800 AD. It was later suppressed but rediscovered in 1829, when it was once again suppressed. Only now has it reemerged to become widely available and judged properly for its value. Note: A more common 64 page version is in circulation, but is a proven forgery.

✏A Dictionary of Christ and the Gospels Volume I Part One Aaron Excuse Book Summary : The purpose of this dictionary is to give an account of everything that relates to Christ - His Person, Life, Work, and Teaching. It is in a sense complementary to the Dictionary of the Bible, in which, of course, Christ has a great place. But a dictionary of the Bible, being occupied mainly with things biographical, historical, geographical, or antiquarian, does not give attention to the things of Christ sufficient for the needs of the preacher, to whom Christ is everything. This is, first of all, a preacher's dictionary. The authors of the articles have been carefully chosen from among those scholars who are, or have been, themselves preachers. And even when the articles have the same titles as articles in the Dictionary of the Bible, they are written by new men, and from a new standpoint. It is thus a work which is quite distinct from, and altogether independent of, the Dictionary of the Bible. It is called a Dictionary of Christ and the Gospels, because it includes everything that the Gospels contain, whether directly related to Christ or not. Its range, however, is far greater than that of the Gospels. It seeks to cover all that relates to Christ throughout the Bible and in the life and literature of the world. There will be articles on the Patristic estimate of Jesus, the Medieval estimate, the Reformation and Modern estimates. There will be articles on Christ in the Jewish writings and in the Muslim literature. Much attention has been given to modern thought, whether Christian or anti-Christian. Every aspect of modern life, in so far as it touches or is touched by Christ, is described under its proper title. James Hastings (1852-1922) was a distinguished scholar and pastor. He was founder and editor of the Expository Times and is also well known for editing the five-volume Dictionary of the Bible, as well as the Encyclopaedia of Religion and Ethics, the Dictionary of Christ and the Gospels, and the Dictionary of the Apostolic Church.
