✏Any Time Soon Book Summary : Stan Rogers, a successful software entrepreneur, has a plan to help third world countries speed up their progress into the developing world and to give back some of what he has reaped from the hi-tech boom. He sets off on a journey to visit heads of state and CEO's of large corporations to implement this idea. The vehicle for this trek is his super sportfishing yacht, "Micro Fiche". Along the way he samples world class big game fishing, his other passion in life. Many of these spectacular days of blue-water angling are taken from the real life experiences of the author. Unfortunately, there are those whose special interests are threatened by Roger's scheme for these poor countries. These include a U.S. Senator, former Navy Seal, and a couple of corporation executives. These and other people set out to sabotage the negotiations and Roger's comrades as well. A series of incidents from Cairo, to Baja California, to the Northern California Wine Country brings the reader inside the action as Stan and his fishing buddies attempt to protect, and finally deliver, a library of computer disks back into the United States. The premature revelation of the data and agreements on these disks could very well scuttle the entire project. If you have ever wished for a little more in-depth view into the sport of offshore fishing, the boutique wine business, and a fresh tack on international philanthropy, along with the intrigue swirling around this voyage, pick up this easy reading but thoughtful book.

✏Too High Too Far Too Soon Book Summary : Too High, Too Far, Too Soon is the humorous, tragic and searingly honest memoir of a man who survived childhood tragedy, Catholic boarding school and chronic drug addiction. Simon Mason graphically details his experience of teenage angst in a tatty seaside town before he ran away to London and then onwards to the crack-infested streets of LA. He recounts his numerous decadent adventures at Glastonbury Festival and the notoriety that came during his stint as personal chemist to the biggest bands of the '90s, before he himself descended into a helpless period of heroin addiction. After several incidents of petty crime stemming from his drug problem, Simon launched numerous failed attempts to become a bona fide rock 'n' roll star and even more failed attempts to get clean, finally being ‘rescued’ by Banksy from a stolen camper van, covered in blood in the Spanish countryside. Too High, Too Far, Too Soon is a rock 'n' roll memoir with a difference, written by a man who lived the life and attained the drug habits of the most extreme rock stars, yet whose attempts to break through to the big time always eluded him.

✏How Soon is Now Book Summary : One of the most tangible aftershocks of Punk was its urgency to prompt individuals into action. Document your reality: do it yourself. From this, a generation of young men were inspired and, with often zero financial planning or business sense, in a bedroom, garage or shed, labels such as Factory, Rough Trade, Mute, 4AD, Beggars Banquet, Warp, Domino and Creation began, shifting the musical landscape and trading on an ethos and identity no brand consultant would now dare dream of. Musicians were encouraged to do whatever the hell they wanted and damn the consequences. From humble beginnings, some of our most influential artists were allowed to thrive: New Order, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Orange Juice, Cocteau Twins, Sonic Youth, Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, Aphex Twin, Teenage Fanclub, My Bloody Valentine, Autechre, Broadcast, Vampire Weekend, The White Stripes and Artic Monkeys to name but a handful. This is the story, set to an incredible soundtrack, of the enormous scale of the passions, the size of the egos, and the true extent of the madness of the mavericks who had the vision and bloody-mindedness to make the musical landscape exciting again.
