📒Abundance Through Reiki ✍ Paula Horan

These two indigenous healing arts arising independently in China and India communed and exchanged experience, techniques, and therapeutic substances over the epochs of their development. In so doing, it offers these ancient paradigms into the practice of modern healing for a synergistic, inclusive approach.
📒The Economics Of Abundance ✍ Brendan Sheehan
✏The Economics of Abundance Book Summary : This book addresses the challenge posed by J.K. Galbraith over fifty years ago to make a constructive contribution to a different style of economic analysis - the economics of abundance. It identifies a system of abundance inhabited by the ?people of plenty? and illustrates that the driver of growth in this system is spending by affluent consumers. This timely book provides essential heterodox economic theory to explain this spending and explore its key drivers and constraints.
📒Abundance For What ✍ David Riesman
✏Abundance for What Book Summary : This classic collection of essays by Riesman discusses the implications of affluence in America. Riesman maintains that the question that should be raised by wealth has shifted over time from how to obtain wealth to how to make use of it. Another key theme concerns issues relevant to higher education, such as academic freedom. This book examines the notion that America is not as open a society as it may appear to be; it shows how social science may be used to explain why this is so. In a brilliant, lengthy reevaluation Riesman both clarifies and revises that earlier assessment with unusual luster and candor.

📒Abundance Effects In Classification ✍ B. Hauck
✏Abundance Effects in Classification Book Summary : The general discussions of the roles of photometric and spectroscopic classification at Cordoba in 1971 (lAU Symposium No. 50), and of the calibration of classification indices at Geneva in 1972 (IAU Symposium No. 54), revealed clearly the steadily in creasing importance of abundance parameters. The multipliCity of these, however, raised so many new problems that it was logical that the 1975 meeting at Lausanne should be concerned with ways in which differences in abundance affect both spectral types and photometric indices. Commissions 29 and 36 joined with Commission 45 in sponsoring this Symposium. Since the date of the meeting came shortly after the formal retirement of Professor William W. Morgan from the University of Chicago, it was quickly agreed that this meeting should be dedicated to him in recognition of his unique contributions to spectral classification. In the opening paper of the Symposium Dr. Bengt Stromgren has summarized these. To his remarks we should add only that it was about 1940 that Morgan first distinguished the group of G- and K-type stars with weak CN bands and metallic lines - stars which have since been recognized as having the abundance of all metals relative to hydrogen much lower than in stars of the solar population. Spectra of two of these, HD 81192 (Boss 2527) and 8 Lep, were later shown as examples of the group in the Yerkes Atlas of 1943.
📒Estimating Animal Abundance ✍ D.L. Borchers
✏Estimating Animal Abundance Book Summary : This is the first book to provide an accessible, comprehensive introduction to wildlife population assessment methods. It uses a new approach that makes the full range of methods accessible in a way that has not previously been possible. Traditionally, newcomers to the field have had to face the daunting prospect of grasping new concepts for almost every one of the many methods. In contrast, this book uses a single conceptual (and statistical) framework for all the methods. This makes understanding the apparently different methods easier because each can be seen to be a special case of the general framework. The approach provides a natural bridge between simple methods and recently developed methods. It also links closed population methods quite naturally with open population methods. The book is accompanied by free software on the web, in the form of an R library, allowing readers to get some "hands-on" experience with the methods and how they perform in different contexts - without the considerable effort and expense required to do this in the real world. It also provides a tool for teaching the methods, including a means for teachers to generate examples and exercises customised to the needs of their students. As the first truly up-to-date and introductory text in the field, this book should become a standard reference for students and professionals in the fields of statistics, biology and ecology.
📒Geostatistics For Estimating Fish Abundance ✍ J. Rivoirard
✏Geostatistics for Estimating Fish Abundance Book Summary : Geostatistics is a branch of spatial statistics that was originally developed for the mining industry. The technique is now widely recognised as an important tool for the estimation of the abundance and distribution of natural resources. However, new developments have been required to extend its application to fisheries science, particularly in variogram estimation. This important new title describes the fundamentals of geostatistics in terms more familiar to life-scientists, and uses case studies on seven commercially important fish stocks to demonstrate its application to fisheries survey data. Comprehensive and practical advice is given on how this new method can be used to estimate the abundance (with an appropriate measure of precision) of fish stocks worldwide. Geostatistics for Estimating Fish Abundance will be of vital interest to fisheries research scientists, marine biologists, oceanographers, marine and fish ecologists, environmental scientists and experts involved in the assessment of natural animal resources. The book has been developed as a result of studies carried out by a collaborative team of international researchers expert in this area with financial support from the Commission of the European Communities, AIR specific RTD programme. J. Rivoirard and N. Bez are at the Centre de Géostatistique de Fontainebleau, Ecole des Mines de Paris, France, J. Simmonds and P. Fernandes are at the FRS Marine Laboratory, Aberdeen, UK and K. Foote is at the Institute of Marine Research, Bergen, Norway and at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA.
